Today we’re launching the Alantra Specialist Care Fast 50, which identifies the 50 fastest-growing, privately owned specialist care businesses in the UK. The report places a spotlight on the leading businesses providing services to a range of individuals, including those with learning disabilities, mental health needs, physical and sensory disabilities, acquired brain injuries and substance misuse.
The average business in the Alantra Specialist Care Fast 50 has seen annual sales growth of 18.2% over the past two years, with the top ten companies achieving above 25% growth. The leader, Select Healthcare Group, which operates a range of facilities throughout England, achieved an annual growth rate of 44.4% over the past two years.
The impressive level of growth across the Fast 50 is attracting increasing attention, with investment in the sector now growing significantly year-on-year. Although at the front line of care in the UK, specialist care businesses are rarely well known or high profile; the Fast 50 seeks to recognise their achievements. Their accelerating revenue growth reflects both the quality of their provision and the continued consolidation seen in the market. These businesses are in a very strong position to continue growing rapidly, investing and innovating to continue improving specialist services that are greatly under-supplied.
A sustainable specialist care sector is in the best interests of all its stakeholders, from investors to taxpayers – and, above all, the individuals it cares for. The businesses in the Alantra Specialist Care Fast 50 represent the very best of this inspiring industry.
